HUMAN
FILLETED "Hideous Sculptures
of the Dead" MH-CR003
Another
genre project led by the industrious and productive Kyle Christman
(Catatonic Atrocity, Found Gutted, Purulent Infection). Whereas
his other bands find themselves in the goregrind and slam death
genres Human Filleted is solid US death metal, quite reminiscent
of acts such as (early) Deicide, Gorgasm, (early) Mortal Decay
and Fleshgrind.

REVIEWS:
Human
Filleted play brutal death metal in the vein of Deeds Of
Flesh, Deicide and Gorguts, but as opposite to many other
bands the Americans don't aim to be the fastest. It benefits
the diversity on Hideous Sculptures of the Dead that the
band frequently slows things down and allows the bass or
heavy middle-parts to show. Human Filleted get most of their
inspiration from the 90's and that clearly shows. Here are
no triggers on the drums or exaggerated use of ProTools.
It's nice to hear a band that concentrates on what they
like instead of following what is popular. The songs are
well-written and Human Filleted plays it tight and brutal.
Production-wise the Deeds Of Flesh and Deicide references
are almost impossible not to notice. The guitar sound have
a lot in common with how Deeds Of Flesh sounded on Path
of the Weakening and Deicide on Once Upon the Cross. This
is not bad at all, but of course it doesn't provide Human
Filleted with that much identity soundwise. Hideous Sculptures
of the Dead may not be a magnum opus, but it should have
no problem pleasing most fans of brutal US styled death
metal.
