SIGNS
OF DYING "Desire is Suffering"
MH-DG07
Extremely
technical death metal ala Necrophagist. Inhuman guitar shred,
brutal melodies, guttural vocals, and sick bass lines create a
hellish roller coaster ride of death and human suffering.

Signs
Of Dying, Desire Is Suffering - In 2001, the brutal US Death
Metal outfit ‘Signs Of Dying’ released their debut mini-album
“Desire Is Suffering”. The six-track CD delivers some ultra
fast and technical Death Metal from this tight and proficient
band. The drums are clearly electronically programmed drums,
but this certainly does not take anything away from the
music. Vocalist Steve Crumbley delivers a mass of devilishly
deep guttural growls that fits the sheer aggression of the
group’s sound perfectly. The tracklisting is as follows:
1. Perpetual Killing 2. Impaled Within The Cerebral Vortex
3. Godlike Necrophoria 4. Desire Is Suffering 5. One In
Chaos 6. Vicious Cycle The album is a non-stop barrage of
competent Death Metal that races through your stereo to
attack your ears. The only exception to this is the instrumental
track, “Desire Is Suffering.” The track begins and continues
for what seems like forever, with a mundane drone of weird
guitar noises and electronic effects placed on top of a
tribalistic drum beat. This persists for a long time until
the track finally floats into a rather beautiful and atmospheric
ending. This final change in the track saves the four minute
song piece for me.
